André Flemmings has worked in financial services for 14 years and been a diversity and inclusion (D&I) practitioner for a decade. With a background in corporate communications, he has trained, coached and mentored hundreds of candidates from underrepresented groups into City roles, and worked with the world’s largest and most influential professional services firms to improve their understanding of talent and widen the diversity of their talent pools.
As an in-house D&I and talent expert at Deutsche Bank, Macfarlanes, and Linklaters, André has always championed holistic solutions. At each he has designed and led targeted programmes, and ensured that diversity principles are integral to general strategies, processes and practices rather than supplemental. In particular his specific and general interventions have contributed to transforming Linklaters into a UK social mobility champion firm, and helping the firm to articulate and present a broader range of narratives externally to prospective talent.
More recently André has been consulting, presenting and offering comment on D&I challenges. Areas of particular activity and interest include the employee life cycle, performance management, inclusive leadership and diversity support for majority groups.
